Project Manager

Distribution, Substation, and Transmission Line

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team.  This position will be expected to safely perform all associated tasks with the construction and maintenance of Distribution, Substation, and Transmission Projects including job planning, financial tracking, purchasing (PO requisitions), scheduling coordination, and job close-out for multiple projects.  The PM is responsible for providing project status updates weekly to the Director of Operations. Skills and Responsibilities: 
•    Provide overall management of projects throughout initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and project closeout, may include estimating, engineering, bid phase services, procurement, and construction phase services
•    Manage project budgets including the development of detailed project instructions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimates
•    Oversee daily operations of field service manpower, engineering, and sales support for the operation
•    Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications
•    Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and department including project design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting, percent completes, progress reports, etc.
•    Provide leadership for identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
•    Support new business / acquisition integration initiatives
•    Develop and integrate processes to support changing customer requirements
•    The applications can involve electrical, software, mechanical or industrial concepts
•    Interface with internal associates to define details about the applications
•    Provide support as needed for capacity and cost analysis
•    Identify and implement projects to reduce cost of failure


Additional Requirements:
•    Manage adherence to project lead/lag and adept at the identification of necessary steps to ensure project recovery when required
•    4 year minimum years of experience within the small to large-scale power projects in the Distribution, Substation, and Transmission industry
•    Manage and track production, budget, and schedules for a team of construction personnel
•    Be responsible for time management and work product quality
•    Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
•    May be required to travel and/or relocate based on work demand
•    Should have excellent computer skills.  Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
•    Must possess exceptional interpersonal, administrative, oral and written skills.
•    Must be able to supervise flexible shifts and schedules
•    Thorough understanding of Bid specifications
•    Ability to audit unit counts on all associated unit contracts


Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Ability to proficiently use project management software (Primavera 6 and/or Microsoft Project) 
•    PMP from an accredited institution
•    Prior Logistics or Supply Chain experience a plus

 

Journeyman Lineman

Distribution

We are looking for Journeyman Linemen to join our team.  This position will be expected to safely perform all associated tasks with the construction and maintenance of all overhead and underground facilities. They must be able to safely trouble shoot and repair all distribution circuits and equipment. This is a great opportunity for the right person looking for a career with room to grow in the utility industry, with a nationwide Subcontractor, Sayers Construction LLC.  This is a Full-time position with benefits package included.  The position will be held in our Miami Lakes, FL location.


Skills and Responsibilities: 
•    Has worked in the distribution line industry as a journeyman lineman for at least 4 years
•    Perform work in a safe manner on energized and de-energized distribution systems
•    Experienced in pole/tower climbing using fall protection systems
•    Has the ability to troubleshoot problems on distribution systems
•    Understands procedures to safely dig holes in the presence of underground utilities
•    Ability to safely set/replace poles (wooden, steel, concrete) on an energized distribution system
•    Capable of safely performing a re-conductor job
•    Understands minimum approach distances
•    Able to string, sag, and dead-end conductor
•    Inspects, maintains company equipment, and trucks in safe working order
•    Able to safely install and remove mechanical jumpers
•    Experienced to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit
•    Must be able to conduct a Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as required
•    Capable of safely installing and removing cover up material
•    Capable of properly inspecting rubber goods, cover materials, and PPE
•    Has the skill sets to safely operate a digger derrick and bucket truck
•    Understands safe heavy lifting and rigging procedures


Additional Requirements:
•    Must have a class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
•    Must be able to work long hours
•    Lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds unassisted
•    Must be able to work at heights and/or confined space
•    Expected to work outside frequently in all weather conditions
•    May be required to relocate based on work demand


Required experience:
•    Energized distribution system: 2 years
•    Apprentice Lineman: 4 years
•    Inspection/installation of cover up materials: 1 year
•    Class A or B CDL
